Ceremony

Ceremony 16/01/15

Today on the 16th of January we are being visited by the Minister of Education Jan O'Sullivan and Salesians Secondary School for the changing of the school name from St.Nessans Community College to Thomond Community College. We are also partaking in the official handing-over of the trophy to our school after our win last week. We are delighted and proud to have such an audience for this event, especially the Minister of Education herself being present given her busy schedule. We find this a great last achievement for St. Nessans before the changing of the name and feel privileged to attend and be a student in such a school as St. Nessans Community College. We have learned, accomplished and achieved more in our last few years here than we would have thought in all our lives and for that we will always be grateful, from the dedication of its staff for all the help they've given us. We wouldn't be here today without them, so thank you all from the bottom of our hearts :). We'll be on later we pictures and hopefully more information about our ceremony today. Thank you.

BT Young Scientists

BT Young Scientists 12/01/2015

On the 8th of January 2015 our team went to the RDS Dublin to compete in the Annual BT Young Scientist competition. We were astounded by the ingenuity, hard work and effort that was put in to the competition not only by the hosts, but by the students and teachers themselves. To even qualify was a great achievement in itself. To come away from it with any acknowledgement for our work and effort was an award in itself, and we were proud to be announced 1st place in the Group Technology Category. This was not only an honor for ourselves, but for our school, faculty and all who were involved in helping us along the way. We could not be more grateful and can not wait to see what this brings us to next.
   Thank you.
These are some photos below of our participation:

December 2014- Minister of Education-Jan O'Sullivan

December 2014
Well it's been a while and things have been pretty busy since going to NASA. We've been doing a lot of testing and a lot of late nights of working since then. We'll be back posting updates and other details about our progress and how work is going. One of our latest meetings with Minister of Education, Jan O'Sullivan. She was a pleasure to meet and seemed to have a keen interest in our project and how it may have a place in future space exploration. We will add a picture shortly and will come back with more updates. Thank you.
